More Sleep because of F.lux, Twilight, and Redshift

More Sleep because of F.lux, Twilight, and Redshift

Anyone that knows me knows that I do not have a regular sleep schedule and I do not get the recommended 8 hours of sleep a night. I have been figuring out ways to better handle this and I recently setup F.lux on my Windows and Mac machines, Twilight on all of my android devices including my televisions, and redshift on all of my linux desktops. This has on average allowed me to get a full extra hour of sleep a night. These applications all work similarly in that they adjust the color temperature of the computer screen or television based on factors that you predefine. I set up all of the applications to go off of time of day based off of the sun setting. I still have been working the same amount of hours but when I am done working it is much easier to fall asleep thus allowing me to sleep a full extra hour of sleep a night. You wouldn’t want to do photo or video editing with any of these applications running but for my purposes it works extremely well. Technology for the win.
